How to measure your ring size
How to measure your ring size:
At Bijouholic, we measure rings at our Chiba atelier and also lend out ring gauges.
Here's how to measure the inside circumference of a ring using items you have at home.
The joint is the thickest part of the finger,
The thumb is measured at the first joint, and the index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little finger are measured at the second joint.
You don't have to worry about the ring not actually fitting or falling out.
It is recommended to measure several times when there is no swelling.
What to prepare
A strip of paper (or a thick piece of string), a ruler, a pen, and cellophane tape
1. Wrap the paper around the thickest part of the finger you want to measure.
・The thickest part will vary depending on the shape of your finger.
- Fixing it with cellophane tape makes it easier to measure
・Wrap it around your finger so that it fits snugly.
2. Mark the overlapping parts with a pen.
- Using a thin pen will give you a more accurate reading.
3. Measure the length to the mark and compare it with the "finger circumference" on the ring size chart.
If the ring is thicker, it may feel tight, so we recommend going up one size.
